Since 2020 I have taught one-to-one workshops, as well as one-to-one lessons at a number of institutions.
I combine my conservatory training in Western classical music with harp performance, orchestral experience, composition and music production. My work spans orchestral composition, music for picture and one-to-one music teaching for different age groups.
I completed middle and high school at the Harp Department of Dokuz Eylül University State Conservatory. Alongside harp performance, I studied solfège, ear training, dictation, music theory and the classical repertoire. During those years I played with the Dokuz Eylül University Orchestra and the İzmir State Symphony Orchestra, gaining orchestral and stage experience.
In 2021 I began my undergraduate studies at the Music Department of İstanbul Bilgi University on a 70 per cent scholarship, and turned towards composition and production. Through advanced harmony, counterpoint, form analysis, orchestration, arranging, composition, songwriting, recording technology and digital music production, I developed my classical background with contemporary composition and music technology.
I focus on orchestral music, film music and musical storytelling for picture. I treat melody, harmony, timbre and orchestration so that they support a scene's emotion and dramatic flow.
For my graduation project at İstanbul Bilgi University, I am writing original orchestral music for selected film scenes. I work on every stage of production, from analysing the scene and composing to preparing the score, orchestrating and realising it digitally.
Alongside film music, I write songs and lyrics, make arrangements and compose for a range of instrumental ensembles.
I write notation and orchestral scores in Dorico, and for digital production I use a range of music software, above all Ableton Live, in which I have completed certified training. I work on MIDI editing, rendering with virtual instruments, studio recording, audio editing, mixing and mastering.
I bring my knowledge of acoustic instruments together with the possibilities of digital production, and draw on the writing, performance and realisation of music as one whole in my composing and my teaching.
I plan each student's sessions one to one, around their age, what they already know and their goals. I teach in English and Turkish, in person or online.
At the end of a session, parents can listen to a short performance of what was worked on.
